Answer» Hey everyone,
This week I got a new motherboard to replace one that's had some problems with the USB controllers. I want to install it today, but I just have one question.
Last YEAR I finished my first build and made the stupid decision of not re-installing Windows. This time around I have 2 hard drives to work with and 3 different PARTITIONS. One of the drives is just for storage and it's only one of the partitions. The second one has TWO partitions, one for the OS and some programs, and the other for all of my GAMES, but they're still both on the same drive. Would I have to reformat the entire second drive, or could I just work with the OS partition alone?
I was thinking I could just work with the OS partition, but I'm not 100% sure. It would be a pain to backup everything if I don't have to.
Thanks!Just the OS partition. And depending on the OS, all you may need to do is a repair install - THOUGH a clean install after a mobo replacement is the wisest choice. If you do a clean install you will, of course, need to reinstall all programs.Alright I thought so. I'll probably just do a clean install, reinstalling the programs won't be a problem. Thanks
