Quote ........ but everywhere i looked i couldn't find a single 512mb mod for my motherboard. Your motherboard does not support 512 modules. It says: "...Maximum Memory 256MB w/SIMMs/512 MB w/DIMMs..." SIMMS are 72-pins and are no longer manufactured. DIMMS are 168-pins. It appears you could use two (2) 256MB PC100/133 DIMMSok thx, i'm just gonna add more memory, i've decided not to change the mobo SINCE it looks like to much work ANYWAY. Quote ok thx, i'm just gonna add more memory, i've decided not to change the mobo since it looks like to much work anyway. The risks and costs involved would indeed be several times greater than when simply adding more RAM. Should you require more advice, do not hesitate to come again.Heh...we could get a lot of upgrades for this kind of comp. Everything is seriuosly outdated, but if like you said, you only use if for e-mail and internet, then it's pretty good. I would go with the RAM, but if you were planing to CREATE a new comp with a new mobo, i'd take a new NLi, possibly an AMD Atholin 64 or FX, and throw in some fast ram (your choice), plus get a nice and cheap GeForce 6800.Update the motherboard??or go with flow and deside for yourself! ::)and the previous poster need to spell. ....... |
