Solve : New Motherboard will not start!?

Answer»

I recently installed a new PcChips P23G Motherboard w/Celeron D 356 3.33ghz processor, 1gb DDR533 PC2-4200 ram and Antec 480 watt ATX12V v2.0 power supply. I believe I have every thing installed and connected properly. When I turn on the power supply switch the leds on the keyboard flash once, next when I press the power button on front of the computer nothing happens, I have checked the jumper settings and the panel connnections,. still nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, George :-?Do you have the auxiliary power supply hooked up to the motherboard? It is a 4-pin connector.I have the 20 pin and the 4 pin connectedAre you sure everything is jumpered correctly? Also try taking all peripherals off(i.e. harddrive, all cd/dvd drives, sound card, any modems, any NICs, and floppy drives), just leave the graphic card seated. Reseat your RAM. Reset your CMOS. Then try to boot up.Yes, I did everything you suggested, still nothing. I did notice that there is a white wire on the old power supply 20 pin connector and that on the new power supply there is nothing in that position on the 20 pin connector.Your new power supply is 20-pin, if I'm not mistaken, I believe you may need a new 24-pin. Is there not ANOTHER 4-pin connector on the power supply that hooks up to the 20-pin. Read the manual of your PSU.Yes I have the 20 pin and the 4 pin connected.Okay, does your motherboard have a 24-pin receptor. For my computer to even boot up, I needed the 24-pin connector + the 4-pin auxillary power connector, to be connected. So in total, there were 28 pins. No, there is a 20 pin below the cpu and a 4 pin just to the left of the cpu. The new power supply came with a split 24 pin ( the extra 4 pin can be removed) this extra 4 pin does not fit the 4 pin receptor but there is also another 4 pin with 2 black and 2 yellow/black wires that fits the 4 pin receptor.Try another monitor. Are you sure your CMOS jumper is in the CORRECT place? The monitor works on another pc I have, the power and cpu fans are not starting and the startup beeps are not OCCURING. Yes I have reset ths CMOS and the jumper is currently across pins 1&2.
Well if the CMOS jumper is in the WRONG place, the power nor the fans will start.Yes I understand this, the jumper is across 1&2, according to the user manual. The only thing I can think of now, is maybe the power switch button is not properly connected to the motherboard. If it is, sorry I can't help you any further. Sorry I wasn't much of a help.Yes I think the MB is defective, Thanks Anyway.
