Solve : New power supply dont work?

I just bought a new power supply for my PC today. I let my buddy install it for me and when it came time to test, only the motherboard light came on. So we looked in to the problem and STARTED looking around the case for any LOSE wires and found nothing. He left and i took the time to out the og power supply back in, but to my surprise the exact same issue came up again!!! the computer does not power up and the supply fan doesn't turn on! does anyone n
know the solution to my problem??

Please EXPLAIN the reason why you bought a new PSU.sorry for the post, after unplugging the old and replacing it with the new one it worked. thanks anyway
