Answer» I have an amd 64 x2 4600 cpu, ASUS A8N-SLI-SE MOBO, ATI X800 PRO video card, 2 gig starram RAM, 80 gig seagate hdd, when installing windows xp i get a error message screen that i will attach. is this a hardware compatablility problem or something else?Has the RAM been tested? Ram worked in this pc so i assume its ok. and bios is set to default except boot order. Things go wrong when people start to *censored*-ume things. Setting it to "Auto" should do. If you're not entirely sure on how to use your BIOS, you should refer to the mainboard manual.Try installing with 1 gig ram. I got the same window with a new 2 gig install . removed 1 stick and the system worked. Then purchased to 1 gig sticks from crucial and did not have another problem again.That would be 2-1 gig sticks. |
