Solve : New to sata hdd?

I just got my sata DRIVE in the MAIL and I already have an IDE drive with xp pro installed.

I connected the sata...after hearing that you can have both types of drives connected but the sata doesn't show. All my googling is for installing xp on a sata....but I just want my EXISTING xp to see it.Does it show in COMPUTER Management? If so, right-click on the drive & format it. You need to format it before it will show up in Windows Explorer.
