I HAVE AN OLDER MOTHERBOARD THAT SUPPORTS 4X AGP, CAN I INSTALL A 8X AGP CARD, AND WILL IT WORK? :-/As long as the card has the ability to "tone-down" and SLOW itself down to meet your requirement, I think it should work.

FlameMy video card (GeForce4 Ti4200) is rated 8X but my motherboard supports up to 4X. It works fine. If you look at the stated SYSTEM requirements on these 8X cards, I believe you'll often see it stated as 4X/8X or even 2X/4X/8X.I heard that a x8 AGP card in x4 slot may FIX CAPS LOCK problems too.
