Answer» everthing seems to be working, but i have no sounds and i cant ADD no hardware to my laptop. when i click on the icon nothing happens. all that really MATTER is that my sound dosen't WORK, it says it is not installed. i tried dxdiag, but that doesnt help im thinking about formating my hard drive and reinstalling windows XP home will it bring it back to its original version all i want is my SOUND BACK thanks what laptop is this .....did you upgrade it to winxp?....have a look in the bottom task-bar to your LEFT the speaker icon click it and see if the mute box is unticked...
