Answer» My son has an IBM Thinkpad 390e, running Windows95. He used it about a WEEK ago & it worked fine (he was looking some INFO up on encarta encyclopedia CD). Yesterday I went to load a cd program on it, but when it booted up, there was no display on the screen.
I verified the system was powered on, I heard the Windows music play, I checked that it wasn't in suspend mode, & I toggled between the internal LCD & external CRT displays (something suggested on IBM site). Nothing WORKS. The LCD screen is lit, but nothing shows as it boots up, Windows logo doesn't display, & desktop doesn't show.
Any suggestions??It appears that "video card" is blown out. Some laptops have separate removable card and others it's integrated on the motherboard. Your IBM ThinkPad is probably too OLD to repair. I'm guessing it's probably 10 years old.
