Solve : No input from keyboard during boot?

Answer»

I've just replaced my old media KEYBOARD with a standard MICROSOFT wired 600 USB ONE. It works fine once Windows (XP home edition) is fired up, but not while the computer is booting up. I've tried advice given elsewhere to uninstall the driver and get it reloaded while starting up; the new driver duly arrived, but it hasn't solved the problem. Do I need to do something to the BIOS, and if so _a_ what, and _b_ given that hitting a function button during the boot sequence how do I get at BIOS? Or what else do I do?
Was your old keyboard usb or ps2?Maybe enable legacy USB device in the BIOS.Quote from: Linux711 on August 19, 2012, 01:07:39 PM

BothI'm not sure what that means. If the old one was connected via ps2 and worked and the usb does not, it probably means that either the bios isn't SET to recognize usb at boot or if it's an older system it may not support usb at boot.Quote from: isambardcat on August 19, 2012, 03:21:35 PM
Both

It was either one or the other.
