Solve : "no plug in" on graphic with new motherboard? |
|
Answer» Hi, dont know about the graphic card, but its not new. I can plug two monitors in it though. Where did this card come from ? ? It very well may be dead. Have you tried it in another machine ? ? This will verify if it works or not... Quote from: Bimm3r on November 09, 2007, 05:01:51 PM I have this pc, and i changed the motherboard on it. But now the graphic card wont work! Neither will the intergrated graphic card on the motherboard. Quote from: Bimm3r on November 10, 2007, 04:12:18 AM I know that the integrated graphic card wouldnt work on the motherboard (or rather,, i suppose) cause i tried removing the agp graphic card. I changed the mobo cause the old mobo wouldnt turn on / went dead.Seems to me you may have mis-diagnosed your original problem and replaced the wrong component. Perhaps you really needed a new power supply, or perhaps you need both it and the new motherboard. Doesn't this seem logical, since you get no VIDEO signal, even from onboard video? In other words, you have no indication that the computer is even booting. So, you may have problems other than the motherboard. Was this motherboard replacement your first such undertaking? Did you use thermal gel when installing your CPU's heatsink? Quote Although the cooler is spinning on the graphic card. Its agp and its in the agp slotQuote my plug-and-play monitor says "no plug in".Did this computer get a video at all before you started with the graphics card or did you try? If you feel comfortable and you know where the CMOS jumpers are, you might "reset" with the agp card out. (in other words take out the AGP card and reset CMOS using the onboard jumpers. Then plug all and check monitor, power/cables, light on monitor (what color is it). Note: Make sure to uplug power to PSU and always put on your wrist strap-ESD (Electrical Static Discharge) while working inside the box. Your board has 1 agp and 3 pci slots..see steps in manual for CMOS (rtc) reset..Hope this helps (if cmos set itself to boot on AGP instead of onboard when you installed the card) reset will put it back to factory settings.. Yes it was my first choice to change the motherboard cause with the old motherboard the pc only wanted to turn on after 200 tries, so i thought it was somekind of defect thing on the motherboard. I did not use thermal gel...... i just thought it was not so necessary >_< cause i could see there still was a little from the old cpu. No smell of burn, etc.. I hope the cpu isnt screwed.
