Answer» I have a laptop; Manufacturer: ECS Model: G610
The problem is I used it yesterday afternoon and then shut it down. When I went to turn it on in the evening, it would not come on. I thought maybe the battery was very low, but when I plug in the AC cord, it does not come on. And the charging light doesn't come on. It appears that no power is getting to the laptop, either from the battery or the AC cord. This same thing happened at the end of the summer, when it was left in a hot car. But it came back on in a couple of days. I'm wondering what is causing this and what can I do to fix it. Ok. so HEATING a laptop is one of the worst things you can do, (its just like over heating your computer) ide say you need a new laptop (unless you feel like fixing one of the many things it could be *includeing the fact I know very little about the inside of a latop*)
heres some tips you should TAKE.
1) allways have your laptop on a cooling dock. dont have one? NO PROBLEM, what i woud do is take 2 peices of paper and fold them untill the make a thick wedge, put them on opposite corners in the back, bam.
2) do not LEAVE it on when your not useing it, cuaseing more heat.
3) most importantly. dont yank out the power cord. slowly PULL out, YANKING it can caue the inside part to snap, killing your charger
if you have done all 3 of these, then i dont know what it is
GL Just to clarify this, when you plug the charger in, there is no charging light or any life to the computer?
Is it still under warranty?Quote from: yuki953 on November 25, 2008, 07:59:07 AM 1) allways have your laptop on a cooling dock. dont have one? NO PROBLEM, what i woud do is take 2 peices of paper and fold them untill the make a thick wedge, put them on opposite corners in the back, bam.
paper would be an insulator...Quote from: BC_Programmer on November 25, 2008, 08:29:32 AMQuote from: yuki953 on November 25, 2008, 07:59:07 AM 1) allways have your laptop on a cooling dock. dont have one? Yeah, what did you mean, Yuki? You want to block the fans?nonononono..... let me clarify.... put it on the top corners... make a jack, to hold up the back end so the fans can workOh...... so that you have the laptop suspended?
I did that with my old old old laptop. I put it on four staple boxes so it would be suspended off the table.
You should know that laptops these days don't need to be suspended. They should have the necessary cooling to keep it alive.I think he's describing the creation of a makeshift cowling...SLWMTNPTN,
Have you tried it with AC power and the battery removed >? ?Quote from: BC_Programmer on November 26, 2008, 05:59:38 AMI think he's describing the creation of a makeshift cowling...
