Solve : No signal?

Answer»

I was working on my computer today, it is a windows xp. What happen is i took out the RAM and then put it back in (the same ones) and now there is no signal to the monitor. I have checked all the cords and the computer turns on but there is not signal to the monitor and the RAM sticks become VERY hot when the computer is on (although that may be how they work just thought it was WORTH mentioning). I have no idea what went wrong. You may have unseated your video card playing in there...try re-seating it.Forgive my ignorance, but

re-seat?wherer you grounded when you took the memory out?
as this may be a fundimental FLOOR as you could have damaged you sticks with ESD
All the best
Simshire seat take out the G card carefully then put it back (re-seat)
SimshiAh, thanksturn your pc of first though
lol
SismhiThanks for all the help but is it normal for the RAM sticks to get really hotDid you try reseating the G card?
Simshiyes, i just re seated the G card and it did not help. I also noticed that the computer does not sound like it is fully booting up. Any tips?Mine also says "no signal"

I have replaced the video card...and tried another monitor....it didn't work EITHER...any THOUGHTS?Did you try the onboard Graphics to see if you still get the same problem?

if the problem still persists then all i can suggest is that your memory has gone,
try a different stick of ram,

Simshi
