Hi, could any one give me some suggestions as to why my BRAND new speakers are unable to play sound from media files? I can hear system sounds perfectly and the speakers are working FINE but I cannot hear music or video sound? This problem has only occured since yesterday, I've checked the leads and plugs and all are correct. When I go into Contorl Panel it tells me there are no audio devices detected?

I've got HP desktop, my speakers are PHILIPS and I'm running XP.

Please help, my office is far too quiet with no music!!You need to re-install your sound drivers...is this onboard sound or do you have a sound card INSTALLED ? ?

If it is onboard sound the drivers will be on your MBoard drivers CD.

If an add on card they will be on their own CD.I have no idea!

Sorry, I'm totally clueless about computers!

TURNED out to be settings in Windows Audio, I did start, run, services.msc, right clicked on Windows Audio, properties and then set it to start, everything works fine now!
