Where are you trying to play it?

When did the problem start? What do you mean? I live in the USA and it is set to region 1. The picture is perfect, just no sound. I SEEN another post on here with the same problem. I can not find the post. The person with the same problem down loaded a different software and it worked. I do not understand why windows media player will not play back sound. Is there something missing? What software are you using?Actually, I meant what program are you using to play it besides Windows Media Player.

When did the problem start?

Can you see if it works with VLC Media Player?
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.htmlSorry, I used Nero that came with the DVD player. It never did work. CD audio always worked, but never DVD sound. I am downloading VLC now. Should I remove Nero before installing VLC? Now you would think a big company LIKE Microsoft would have a complete package to play DVD's properly. I suppose if they did, that would TAKE away form other companies to MAKE money.Once you download VLC, you don't need to change anything else before installing.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. For all we know it could be a codec problem.
Just see if it plays with VLC and we'll go from there.
