Answer» When I run 'Civilization III' on my computer, a high pitched noise continually comes from the monitor. If I TAP the screen the sound goes away for about 10 seconds, then starts again. Please tell me if anyone has an idea of what causing the problem and how to fix it. My OS is 'XP Home EDITION'. My monitor is 'hp pavilion mx75'Sounds like the monitor is/is getting faulty. Do you have another monitor to hook up as a test? I also have Civilization II and I just got Civilization IV. The other settings which were not recommended were: 70 Hertz, 72 Hertz, 75 Hertz, 85 Hertz, and 100 Hertz.maybe you should mess about with the brightness. contrast ect to see if it sorts it out, lol you never know do you
