Answer» I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S487 and it gave me the smart error for emminent HDD failure, so i bought a hard drive from ebay and it specifically says compatible with the P25-S487. I received it but it does not fit. My old HDD is under the laptop and after i take it out, it looks LIKE it's wrapped in foil and the pins protrude from the unit. I called Toshiba and they tell me that its a 60gig ENHANCED IDE interface, 9.5mm. The one I bought from ebay tells me this: General Features : 40GB formatted capacity. - UDMA/100. - 5400 RPM spindle speed. - 8 MB buffer. - 12 msaverage seek time. - 5.6 ms average latency. - 2.5-inch form factor. - 9.5 MM drive height. PLEASE help me! Any information would be valuable to me, thank you very much!!Is there an adapter fitted to the ORIGINAL hard drive that you need to swap over to the new one? Post pictures.
