Solve : Notebook not booting up after BIOS update? |
|
Answer» Hi, ...I can't find the original BIOS so I suggest using the new correct BIOS. ...Here it is: http://www.sony-asia.com/support/download/product/vgn-cs17g/modelfirstWhy is the Asian Sony website the only one that makes sense? And the only region I didn't check? Thanks Accessless, Allan, Computer_Commando for your replies. I downloaded the BIOS updated as instructed by the Sony Support Staff from the page Computer_Commando has posted. Yeah, but from where can I get the original BIOS file? Quote from: Allan on March 11, 2010, 10:59:30 AM Exactly what happens when you try to boot? The power light comes on with HDD light flickering constantly. They are looking into the laptop, COULD be it gets done under warranty. Fingers Crossed. Quote from: Computer_Commando on March 12, 2010, 11:26:16 AM When starting up, do you ever see the VAIO logo? No. Quote from: Parry on March 13, 2010, 01:13:58 AM One positive development guys; visited Sony Service Center yesterday, explained them that it happened cause of their support staff has asked me to update BIOS, provided them the case reference number. It's very strange that it said "BIOS Update SUCESSFUL", and then it's dead. If they deny your warranty claim, file a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission (if you are a US citizen).Guys ... Sony has replaced the motherboard under warranty! Thanks for all your support. But getting PXE error message on boot up. Quote YUKON PXE v 6.22.1.33 (20070803)Who installed the new motherboard, Sony or you? PXE error could be BIOS Boot Order (attempting to boot from network), or a loose connection. Quote from: Computer_Commando on March 14, 2010, 02:24:56 PM Who installed the new motherboard, Sony or you? Sony. They probably tested it booting from their network and failed to change it back when they were done. Let them figure out what's wrong. |
