Solve : Nothing on Screen? |
|
Answer» Hi Guys does it beep or anything Please refrain from GIVING this advice to people with very different problems. patio.YES, the computer turns on, it BEEPS, the lights come on, the fans spin and the cd drive lights flash and open fine. I asssume its not the graphics card because the on board graphics port on the motherboard doesnt work either??? You could try removing the vid card and re-seating it...make sure all fans are operating properly.I have removed the video card and reseated it, removed the ram modules and reseated them, still nothingYou may have to reset the bios to the defaults to be able to use the onboard video, if you can't access your bios by hitting Del continuously at start up the try removing the cmos battery for a while to reset it. Edit 1: Don't forget to plug your video cable into the onboard video port. Edit 2: It may also be a problem with your monitor can you try a different one out?thanks I tried that, Yes I tried another monitor and still nothing, but both the monitors work on another computer so it cant be that. I tried hitting delete on startup but nothing comes up on the monitor so i dont know whether it went into bios or not. It just says no signal on the screen, but both monitors work on another computer with the same cables so its got to be inside the computerUnplug from the mains power, this will allow your PSU to reset if it has latched out. Remove the cmos battery for 10 minutes. Plug your video cable into the onboard video port. Refit your cmos battery. Plug back into your mains power. Push the 'go' button on the front.... what happens? PS, check that your PSU is set to the voltage appropriate to your area. Thanks Fed, I just tried that and it is still the same...nothing on the screen. The power supply is set correctly. It sounds as tho the hard drives arnt doing there normal thing, like they are turning on and spinning but they are not doing the normal clicking type noises that happens when the PC is turned on. Does the motherboard control them? I just had a problem similar to this - i also jsut moved and on my other computer im still having problems but a differnet one. at first it was working fine in my old house and whatever - then we moved and it woulnd't display anything exept for input invalid or... no it was input not support - i fixed this by just BUYING a new graphics card -.- ... now my problem is NO INTERNET..... please check my post about internet in this forum labled "please help!" thank you.Clicking noises from your HD is not a good sign so you should try and test it with bootable software from the manufacturer's website. You should also test your ram with a bootable floppy, download the software from memtest. Either way you should still see a post screen flash up at bootup so it may well be your PSU going South. Do you have access to one you can try as a test? Without making any changes from my previous post you could remove the other video card just in case your bios is the AUTO detect type. |
