Answer» And to think it all started when I went to edit some of my HTML documentation...You do KNOW it can infect .htm files as well? These need to be wiped : all programs, all .exe + .scr executables, downloaded archives (.zip + .rar) and now, according to a very TRUSTWORTHY colleague, this newer variant injects all .htm + .html fileshttp://blog.trendmicro.com/virux-cases-escalate/um, duh, that's how I discovered it. It tries to DOWNLOAD a perl script, which doesn't exist. Also, Avira was detecting the HTML malware. easy FIX- delete the iframe line. |
