Answer» Yes I have an HP Pavilion Dv2000 Series DV2125NR
I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition. I have installed a new harddrive a SATA Seagate 120 GB 2.5"
I installed the new hard drive, and then I ran the recovery disk that I ordered from Hp.
I first install the first CD, then it ask for the 2nd CD. In the middle it ask for Supplementary CD - and if it did not come with one press CANCEL - So I press Cancel. Then it ask me to insert the first CD again so I do that. I get to 51 PERCENT, and it completely shuts off. When I reboot it says NTLDR is MISSING or Corrupt, press CTRL ALT DELETE to restart, I have tried the installation many of times and it does the same thing each and every time.
Any Advice?.. All Is welcome....HP presents a STRANGE ritual for Preparing the hard drive for recovery using the recovery discs (Manufacturer Menu). It might be worth a shot...
While not the exact same problem, SOMEONE who performed the ritual successfully: NTLDR missing.
