Solve : number pad keys on keyboard half work?

the number keys on my keyboard do not WORK, all secondary abilities work example:
pg up, pg dn, arrows, enter etc work
the num lock key works also on SCREEN it shows num lock on / num lock off
when i press the num lock key i get a short high pitched peep
i have gone to the registry and check the keyboard and it is correct
i have PURCHASED a new keyboard and mouse and i still have the same problem
i have deleted the keyboard mouse and drivers and loaded new ones
i do not know what else to do please help

When did this start?windows xp started around months agoOh SORRY, is this a Desktop or Laptop?

If this is a problem with your Desktop, can you try a new one?This is a desk top we have already replaced it twice. The problem still remains.turn on numlock, and then use the numpad number keys.

My guess is you have togglekeys enabled. To turn this of you can hold numlock for 5 seconds. (I'm pretty sure that togglekeys only makes the sound, but you never know)
