Solve : Nvidia 197.16 known issue question? |
|
Answer» Every once in a while the Nvidia driver will stop working and either recover or I will get a blue screen with what seems to be memory range errors. On the device, however, it shows no conflicting devices or any other problem. The temperature is fine as usually it fails while idling. Strangely I've never had it fail while working. Could it be that its memory or the memory that it's sharing is bad somehow. Windows 7, any thoughts, perhaps solutions? More IMPORTANTLY, I'm wondering if multiple memory dumps/ blue screens could PERMANENTLY damage my system or card. This rarely happens so if it doesn't eventually lead down a "dead" END path, I'm fine with the error, but this seems horrible that so many people have this problem and it seems to be hardware or deep in someone else's software conflicting with nvidia and ATI, if it were their fault, they'd be able to FIX it fast : ( lol, I wish it were their fault.Did this start after you updated the driver? If so, roll back.Nope, it happened before. |
