Solve : Old fans? |
|
Answer» Hello, I would like to add a little more cooling so I'm looking into trying to PUT in another case fan. okay, I know they are cheap, but I'm broke. If I got a old fan from someone, or grabbed one at a garage sale, is there a chance of it short circuiting my motherboard, or causing some sort of damage? I want to get a old one and see how it EFFECTS my temp's, and if I get the desired effect, will buy a new one Quote If I got a old fan from someone, or grabbed one at a garage sale, is there a chance of it short circuiting my motherboard, or causing some sort of damage?I highly doubt it. I've got PLENTY of old fans here (some from old Windows 95 computers) and they still work. I've even turned a few into USB fans. Pretty useful if you've got extra fans lying around.Great! PLAN on doing a little OVERCLOCKING, so this will help All right. Just make sure you have a heatsink sitting on your processor and the fan sitting on the heatsink. Be sure to watch your temperatures closely when overclocking. |
