Solve : Old fans?

Answer»

Hello, I would like to add a little more cooling so I'm looking into trying to PUT in another case fan. okay, I know they are cheap, but I'm broke. If I got a old fan from someone, or grabbed one at a garage sale, is there a chance of it short circuiting my motherboard, or causing some sort of damage? I want to get a old one and see how it EFFECTS my temp's, and if I get the desired effect, will buy a new one Quote

I highly doubt it.

I've got PLENTY of old fans here (some from old Windows 95 computers) and they still work. I've even turned a few into USB fans. Pretty useful if you've got extra fans lying around.Great! PLAN on doing a little OVERCLOCKING, so this will help All right. Just make sure you have a heatsink sitting on your processor and the fan sitting on the heatsink.
Be sure to watch your temperatures closely when overclocking.
