Answer» Hi All, Here is one form the olden days. I want to know if any one has some detail specs on the ink or color number of the old print ribbons. What I have is a production scanner that is having a very hard time picking up the pale blue text on MONEY orders. I want to see if I can get a calibration sheet that is more geared toward the pale blues to help setup the machine.
Thanks Spoiler Why do you scan money orders? Dont money orders have mag ink on them like checks? Or you WORK for a business etc which stores DIGITAL images of the cancelled money orders, and its too light, in which production scanner doesnt sound like an illegal device?
I work for a company that keeps COPIES of checks and money orders in storage. The money orders have MICR lines like check but the light blue ink which shows the amount of the money order sometimes gets scanned as a blank area on the image. The scanners can read the checks ok but its the light ink on the money orders that is causing the problem.
I am trying to figure out a better way to setup the scanner to pickup the light color. I had hoped that I could get a chart with a sample of light blues to help set the scanner up.
Hope you DIDNT mind the questions
But in the past when scanning light colors like pastels and yellows on white background etc, I have found that I had to adjust the greyscale of the scanner to avoid losing those colors. Does this scanner have a greyscale adjustment?Yes it has a grayscale. We scan in grayscale 100% of the time. If we darken the camera to try to pickup the light blue but then the checks are really dark and almost unreadable.
Or Google 'color charts'
