Answer» Last week I asked about why I couldn't write to my FDD on my lap top. I tried switchind the tab and formating the disk but to no avail. I then a REMOVED my FDD (its removable) and connected it VIA an external cable, when i do this it works fine. I then went to, programs>accessories>system tools>system information, and selected problem devices. when the FDD is in it tells me that the secondary ide bus controller is not working ( I will be more specific if needed, but it means i have to SHUT down and connect the drive). When I INSERT the cdrom drive (also removeable, goes in same slot) and to the same thing it says there are no problems. I have tried a different FDD but it does the smae thing, any ideas?
