How do I get the type of graphic card in the machine and how do I get it to work?
thankyouRe-install both the MBoard and graphics drivers for that machine...
They will be on a Tecrsa CD labelled Drivers.
If you do not have it travel to their website. You should have save your graphic drivers.
ANYWAY, if you can get on the internet, try to find both the motherboard and video drivers for your system. Or, you could go into device manager, select the video adapter and try to update the adapter using windows update service. Sometimes that works. Or do it like this:
Here is a screen shot:

You can get to the drive from the desktop. > display properties > adapter >driver >update drive.
And pick windows update. Otherwise you have to get it off hte site of WHOEVER made your computer and video graphics.

For some video CARDS it is done this way. Go into the device manager and remove the VGA device. The system will still run with it gone! If the driver software has a Setup, run it. Other wise go into add new hardware and insist that you have the disk and do not let Windows install a driver. You then give the location of the folder that has the proper INF or whatever it is. Windows then installs the driver you want. It may complain that the driver is not certified. Then you can chose to ignore the warning. Then when it is done, reboot the system.
Thant may apply to your problem, but no guarantee.I have no problem with you using Windows to update drivers....
Keep doing it i say .than you geek worked a teat
