Solve : Optimal CPU Temperature? |
|
Answer» Many of the forums suggests that optimal TEMPERATURE for CPU should be below 50C, some even SUGGEST between 20C-30C. Many of the forums suggests that optimal temperature for CPU should be below 50C, some even suggest between 20C-30C. That is not abnormal for some P4s. You did not say which CORE you have but the P4s do run HOT. The hottest is the Prescott. More modern CPUs run cooler. My AMD Phenom 3.0 GHz idles around 30 and reached 45 - 47 C on load but my P4 3.0GHz Prescott core idles at around 48 and reaches 65-68 on load. I am in the UK and room temperature is around 18-21 normally. The P4s run hot and 70 or more is not uncommon especially in a hot climate. If you consistently hit over 75 you might want to investigate better cooling. Hi Salmon Trout, thanks for your advice. Mine is a P4 630 Prescott-2M I've changed to a slightly better CPU fan (Cooler Master Hyper 101) and the temperature has dropped to ~55 (idle) and ~75 (heavy load). So I think it's OK now. Thanks. |
