Solve : Overclocking "Ghost"?

Answer»

Hi group.. maybe someone can help me out here. About once a week when my system boots it tells me to enter CMOS due to Overclocking & fix the mess . Trouble is i don't KNOW whats causing the mess . I am not smart enough to overclock a computer so i am WONDERING if this could just be an erroneous message or is something taking place that could cause this..It would be NICE to know what type of mobo & cpu you have in there FIRST but, obviously something is wrong.

Be careful (ground yourself) grab the case both hands for a second, get off any carpeting, take the battery out of your case for about a minute.
Put it back in, secure your case and start it back up .. this should restore your system to their default values. I have seen that error in the past if the CMOS battery is dead or dying. Otherwise it might need a bios flash.I would not SUGGEST a BIOS flash...many doorstops have been created using this method.
