Answer» after listening to many peoples advices, i finally BUILT my PC and it works great.
now i decided to GO from 1gig to 4(4x 1gb cards) gig(yeah i dont really need it but i did it anyways)
so here lies the problem. i windows wont boot up(it will be stuck on loadings screen) whenever i have 4 gigs in it. with 3gigs it works fine but with the 4th, it just gets stuck during windows screen.
i TRIED booting up the computer with each individual card to test and make sure that all the ram cards are working and it works fine.
do you guys have any ideas on why my computer wont boot with 4 gigs of ram?
this is my ram card x4 http://...newegg.com/...t/product.asp?item=N82E16820227123
this is my mobo http://...newegg.com/...t/product.asp?item=N82E16813131142
this is my cpu http://...newegg.com/...t/product.asp?item=N82E16819115004
i should also mention that i havent messed with the bios(i only INSERTED the ram into the mobo).
please HELP (i am on my laptop)Does it matter what chip is in what slot? I would start by checking the chips individually with the free diagnostic at www.memtest86.com
If it's any consolation, that 4th gig of RAM will probably never be used by Windows anyway.
