I just bought a p7p55lx motherboard with an i5 650 3.2ghz processor and corsair xms3 ram their 2 - 4g sticksthe ram is compatable with the motherboard because i check the website and so is the cpu but my harddrive and video card is from my older computer the video card is about a year OLD it is a ATI 4350 pciex16 512mb. hard drive is a seagate 10,000 rpm sata 500gb power supple is new a blue star 580w. well the problem is i turned it on after putting it together and it comes to the screen where you can press delete to enter bios or or tap for post bios messages i tried the keys and can't get into bios the it goes to this scan devices screen and the only thing it reconizes is my old ide cdrom drive. it doesn't reconize an thing else i ALSO have a dvd burner that is sata that came off my older computer. any way it just sits at the scan devices until i turn the power off the i turn it back on at its the same routine some one help!!!!!i would disconnect everything except essentials { ram and video } and try to access bios. if that works try adding 1 device at a time.Does the HDD have a pre-existing OS installed to it ? ?
If so you will have issues.
Sometimes a Repair Install will get you there...depends on the OS.yes the exisiting hd have win xp sp3 32 bit i was going to WIPE it and put win 7 64 bit on it
I also tried unpluging everything except ram and video and still the same can't get into bios or press any keys for boot seqence . all it does is the same thing it was doing when everything was pluged in. it keeps going to scan for devices and it just keeps scaning to find dievices but never does
does your power supply have two 4pin atx connectors? i had problems before because i had wrong 4 pin plugged in to mb.
