Answer» I purchased a Packard Bell Desk top Istart 2479 ,serial No.128264350300, from PC WORLD, branch 4881, on Feb. 03 2007. I thought I had registered it but have no luck in trying to access the Web support.
I made a backup disk at the time but it stopped at one disk. I have been trying to get it to complete but it tells me I have done it already. I would be grateful if anyone could inform me of any solution to this impasse?
Packard Bell is not known for good support.... but beyond that, if you get nowhere with Packard Bell and need to reinstall your operating system, you may be looking at buying a new full install of your OS.
Usually like HP, you can get a hold of someone even if in INDIA and pay $35 for a restore package. HOPEFULLY Packard Bell has the same option without telling you sorry we cant help you!
DaveDid you call them?THANKS guys that was great. It gave me courage to launch out on a NATIONAL call rate. and in 5mins I had the answer. Because I'd used a DVD and not a CD it was all there on one disk. Maybe Packard Bell can be OK sometimes! Thanks for posting back.
