Answer» Thank you in advance for your help. I’m running XP home edition ver.2002 w/Spack2. I have HP710 for printer. Tried to update the HP software witch I have to remove previous VERSION, Window froze up PRIOR to complete de-install; now I can’t install NEW. HP software INDICATES that I need to de-install previous version. XP Indicates “Unable to locate the installation log file’C:\program files\etc\etc\700\uninst.isu’. Uninstallation will not continu. I’m stuck-- What do I need to do to get out of this mess?.
How did you de-install it ? ? Were you using Add/Remove programs ? ?
Do you still have internet access ? ? If so check HP's site for an uninstaller utility. Their software is fairly bloated and writes itself to a lot of places. A manual uninstall will take some doing.
You could also DLoad and install CCleaner and see if it will remove the remnants...
