Solve : Partitioning disk w/vista x64? |
|
Answer» prepping to build new x64 system AMD phenom. twin 500gb drives. has anyone tried partioning drives with clean install Vista? Also, if my mobo has CROSSFIRE technology will it run nvidia sli cards or will I have to buy radeon ati. trying to get info together before I have a real clash!! Crossfire only works with ATI graphics cards and SLI only works with Nvidia based cards. this doesn't really count as a "reply", but Vista SP1 is out. At this point in time i wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole and i'd certainly not introduce it into a brand new 64bit build....those have enough issues already.LOL... you're tellin me. Surprisingly, the only real troubles I have are the 64bit and internet site compatability issues. I cant even LOGIN or register at certain sites.I don't really use Vista, as a matter of fact I don't use it all, though I do have Ultimate x64 installed as multi boot option. I did not have any problems creating a partition from a clean install. And before anyone would like to know why I have it and don't use it, it's for school purposes and troubleshooting when I need it.thanks for the responses guys. Maybe I should build my system and install at 32 bit until everyone catches up.Not neccessarily... We're not trying to scare you off of Vista 64. You simply need to do the research ahead of time and hunt down 64bit DRIVERS for everything the machine has hardware wise...once done with that you should be good to go.Not scarin me off. Just wonder should I wait. Is there a significant diff. in data transfer and GAMING? is there any software ready for this quad system? Where is a good sight to track down drivers or do the hw manuf. have 64 bit drivers? I suppose I need to check my with my ISP to see if the wireless is ready for 64 bit as well.. more ?? than I thought about initially. |
