Solve : Patitioning the HD?

Answer»

Here we GO again, another silly question but my minds just GONE blank.
If l buy a NEW large enough hard drive and divide it into say three partitions, can l then put XP, Vista, and W7 into their own partition and then boot up whichever system l choose?
(l don't really want to lose XP as l like it too much, but it would be good to have the other two OS's as well, to mess around with).
Thanks Yes. Be sure to install them in that order - XP, then Vista, then 7 (always oldest first).Yes.
My current system is setup this way...
There are a few different approaches to doing this so when you get close let me know and i'll write out the PRO's and Con's of those choices...Thank you both Allan and Patio. Your replies are always welcome.
At the moment it's just a THOUGHT.
My current drive is a massive 30gb (phew, l just can't cope with all this storage!) But......., all that is on there is the XP OS, and certain programs. These programs, and everything else, is backed up on another external drive, so my setup suits me fine at the moment
However, l think my HD might be on it's last legs hence my original question.
Now l know it's possible, l'll go away and think about it.
Will return as and when l get a new drive.
Thanks againGood deal...
This is not cast in stone...just my personal experience...
But min partition sizes for each OS:

XP= 25G...40 comfort zone...

Vista= 30G...40/50 comfort zone

Win7= Same as Vista.
