Answer» I wasn't sure if this should go to hardware or software. Well here is the run down. I was using a dell software to turn my PATRIOT memory stick into a bootable DRIVE. That however failed so I went to erase those files of the patriot stick and my stick is not labeled as a FRACTION of the original size. ORIGINALLY listed it was 7.45gb now it is 1.96gb...I have tried to right click on it and do the format option but that does absolutely nothing for me. What method did you use to make it bootable .....? ? There are a few... What file system ?This "Diagnostic Distribution Package" It seems to have a drop down box with my USB stick listed as (I:)[FAT32:PATRIOT]3725MB - Patriot Memory PMAP
I hope that helps some.
Well I have gone to Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management and I see my patriot thumb drive listed with 1.97GB FAT as "Healthy (active)" and 5.49GB as "Unallocated" And that would be the 5.49GB that went missing after I used that Dell utility! There is a hp formatter that may work but I dont have a link. Patio Yeah looks as though removing this PARTITION in Disk Management is a no go. When I right click on the Patriot it doesn't allow me to click "Delete Partition"...terrific windows Your going to find that it has to be force. You could open a command prompt an if you know the drive letter say format letter an say yes HP Formatting Tool: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197Thanks a lot for the link to the Hp program it worked like a charm!
