Solve : pc build done, but nothing on moniter?

i put together EVERYTHING, pressed the power button, saw if all the fans were working and etc, but when i looked up at the moniter, i saw nothing.

specs:

amd athlon 64 3500 venice
asus a8n-sli deluxe mobo
corsair xms 1024mb (2x512)
160gb segate barracuda sata150 hd
evga GEFORCE 6800gt

  • Reseat all hardware
  • Reconnect all cables
  • Test all hardware individually
  • Report any beeps you may hear and their meaning.
okay, i've got the same mobo as you and I had the exact same problem a while ago too. If you have a sound card, take it out, and plug in a speaker to the green slot (in the I/O slots) to use the onboard audio. You'll hear some lady talking, SAYING the POST tests (the things are in your manual). start with only the cpu and heatsink, then add a stick of ram, then another stick, then gpu, etc, and SEE if the messages come out.
ALSO, it might not happen to you, but my mobo wouldn't say anything after I put in the RAM, even though I had no GPU or HDD, only CPU and RAM were in. I RMA'd my mobo, and that solved the problem, but might not be the same with you.
