Answer» Problem started when PC quit booting, just beeped.
I added new memory 4GB - but when I turn it ON, all it does is beep - one short and one long, then pause, then the same. I checked some charts but did not see this beeping sequence. It's an HP M8300F.

Memory problem-One short and one long.
Is it possible to test the new memory MODULE in another computer? Also, try clearing CMOS and switching the RAM modules AROUND in different slots...I followed the link you posted and followed the process. I took one memory off and checked for beeping. The last one caused the beeping issue!
