Answer» I recently upgraded my PC's MEMORY to 2GB. I installed the correct mem 2x1 GB PC3200. When I tried to BOOT up the PC, it hangs on the Dell screen. It does not go any further. I re-installed the old mem modules, and it booted up fine. What's going on? Do I have to flash the Bios? What's the DELL model # ?

Download the Windows ISO CD using the link I provided. Download Image Burn, install it and run it. Click on "Burn Image to Disc" and select the ISO file to burn it to CD..
With the CD in the computer (making sure that the CD DRIVE is set as priority in CMOS) restart the computer and let the computer boot off the CD. Let memtest86 run for a couple of hours and report back, whether it detect any "errors"
It could be that just ONE of the new ram modules is bad. It You could also try starting the computer with one of them, in the slot closest to the cpu.. If it works with only one, then you'll know which one is bad.
