Solve : Phone frequency vs. wireless frequency?

Answer»

Everytime someone calls the house, my computer CONNECTION is interrupted. I have wireless internet access and if the phone rings I don't get a signal. If I answer the phone and stay on the phone it works, it only goes offline for like a second and then connects back. The problem is that everytime this happens my MSN, AIM, and Google Talk all get disconnected and it's a pain to get back online and to have all the convos closed.

I have a Dell Dimension 8100 Windows XP. The router/modem is from LinkSys {If that's what you call it. )

PS: It doesn't happen to the other two computers in the house (laptops) only to mine (Desktop)Are you on dialup? Otherwise it should not matter.Wireless.. cable.. no dial-up whatsoever. If it's a DECT phone, it could well be responsible. Try changing wireless channels.
Are you sure that you're on cable and not DSL?1. What's a DECT phone?
2. I sure hope I know enough about my computer to tell if I'm on dsl or wireless. It's wireless, trust me. I can use it anywhere in the house from a laptop or a desktop. No router, just a little antenna connected to the CPU. It's definitely wireless.
3. How do I change the wireless channel?Quote
