Answer» As a newbie i am not even sure i know how to ask this question correctly but i will try . My pc has a 256 physical memory & has APPARENTLY maxed out & is transfering memory from the hard drive (C) ?.. Is there a mininum % of " FREE space " i NEED to maintain in c for the system to operate ok ? I am CURRENTLY using 35% of c drives capacity . cdoMaintain at least 15% free space, or Windows will not be happy. Your physical memory is RAM memory, unrelated to your HDD space. Does that answer your question?Windows likes to have 10-15% free space for the ever growing swap file. With only 256 RAM, that COMPUTER will always seems slow with XP. Turning off ALL of the eye candy will help somewhat.
