Hi, the headphone jack on the front of my PC case has become worn and now no longer accepts headphone jacks properly, resulting in very poor output. Any movement on my end and the connection is lost. It doesn't grip the jack properly either so it just sort of falls out.
The mic jack NEXT to it though works fine. I NEVER use it, is there a way to swap them round by software? I am the only one who listens to music on this PC and I am not allowed to OPEN the case, so I cant swap anywires around.wooden spoon...... I do not think you can do that with software ...... however , you should be able to plug your headset into the jack on the rear of the case ...that probably has the external speakers plugged in. (you would have to unplug the external speakers)

dl65 Do you have any USB ports in the front? (Most computers lately do, so you should.) If so, I would suggest buying a USB audio adapter.



This one's only 8 bucks.If neither of the above suggestions are viable OPTIONS for you, a new sound card could be the solution. Here's an inexpensive one I've been using for almost two years: CHAINTECH AV-512 5.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card - RETAIL. And, yes, I use a mic with it. However, to use a headset for listening, I believe you'd need to disconnect external speakers and use that same port for your headset.
