Solve : Please help: connecting computer to tv monitor?

Answer»

I have a dell desktop running XP with a Nvidea GeForce FX 5500 and I'm TRYING to connect my video card to my tv. My tv only has a coax input so I have to connect s-video to my computer. Then connect the s-video to an rf converter to connect to the coax on my tv. But the display on the tv SUCKS. When I try to play a video in windows media player, it plays fine on the computer monitor, but doesn't EVEN play on the tv. Can anyone please help me with this issue? I would greatly appreciate it.No need to post your question in more than one thread...

Actually on occasion i've seen it slow down replies.

patio. 8-)Describe more of the problem. What do you mean when you say the display "sucks"?Well I can see pictures and the background just fine. But the icons and wording is very blurry, actually unreadable. ALSO, video won't even play on the tv but will on the computer.Quote

Well.. first off, the TV uses NTSC format, and your computer isn't. The best most video CARDS can do, is 640 x 480 on a TV.. sometimes 800 x 600... but it's still going to be grainy and blurred. And the fact that you're using a modulator in between the signal just makes it worse.

see here for someone elses opinion and research:

I give up...This thread is now locked for Patio's sanity. Please see the responses in the other one.
