recently my buddie redid my coputer and when he gave it back there is no sound controll or when i go under the device manager it has like a question mark by the multimedia .how do i get my sound back?You haven't REALLY given us a whole lot to work with...

What do you mean when you say he "redid" your computer? What exactly did he redo?
Did he, by any chance, install a new sound card?
Open up Device Manager and expand the Multimedia section. Find the exact device with the question mark next to it, right click, uninstall, and restart. Any LUCK?
If not, you may want to post a screenshot of your Device Manager.The answer is simple you either do not have the CORRECT sound driver installed or there is no driver at all, like Cbmatt said post you D manager Pic so we can have a look
