Answer» i have a HP pavillon notebook, 2 years old, 160GB HDD, 4GB DDR2, AMD Athlon 64*2 2ghz processor. the laptop was running fine, then it locked up, i restarted it and it TURNS on, all leds are lit, i can hear the PSU fan spining but no video on the screen. i already TRIED an external monitor still no video, nothing on the screen, no beepcode. i already tried the memory i dont think its a memory issue. please HELP me.did you try opening the laptop case and check if the cpu fan is still running? did you wait a little between each restart to ensure that it had time to cool and to discharge CAPACITORS?Also - try removing the battery and leaving it for a while - that will ALLOW the laptop's components to fully discharge.
