Solve : Please help with Sound Card!? |

Answer» After reformatting my computer, I installed the ChipSet for my motherboard (Asus), but then i found out that i was lacking sound, Sound Properties, the BOX was grayed out with a No Audio Device message on top, i tried all the tips on other forums but couldn't get it to work. Flash update your bios with the latest, then install the additional drivers. Normally you can get the latest online from your motherboard providers offical website. Your'll then should have a larger range of support for newer memory, hard drives, sound cards, etc, which might not be working at first on a clean install. Default Window Drivers just don't cut it for newer hardware. I would not flash the BIOS. Probably would cause more issues. Go to my computer right click an go to properties go to device manger. Check for any yellow !. Its possible that you didnt install the sound driver, if you dont have the disk too it. They should have it on there site. If you have CD installer for the Asus motherboard, it is most likely that the support for the audio/sound comes along. Thus CD installer has an image like this one with the Audio driver option?I tried to install the sound driver but then my computer doesn't recognize it, is it possible I'm using the wrong one?? If so then which one does Asus motherboard use? (I don't have a Cd for this motherboard) Whenever I try to install the Sound Driver I get Device Could Not Start [code 10] message. [recovering disk space - old attachment deleted by admin]becauas am a first timer here, surely i will not help much but just so to be clear on some thing. when thet code 10 comes up, it in most cases mean the drivers u have installed are notmeant for that Hardware. However some times you might install all drivers and actuall there is no yellow exclamations left in the device manager..but still sound wont play...in this case you might have to uninstall all drivers and begin afresh in the right order. as in chipset fisrst, LAN or VGA and then sound and other devices. after i have gone through the experience of this forum, i m certain i will post a more definite answer. good luck Quote Whenever I try to install the Sound Driver I get Device Could Not Start [code 10] message How do you install the sound driver?
