Solve : Plz help.My display refused to display?

Answer»

My hp 625 laptop new model refused to display and the micro-processor tested ok.ram compatible and working perfectly. What could be the cause of this problem ?Exactly how old is this laptop? Was it purchased new?

What do you mean exactly? When you turn the computer on, do you see anything at all? At what point does the display not work?

If you're not seeing anything at all from the moment you turn it on, does the screen appear to be backlit at all? Or does it not appear lit at all and just black.Whenever i turn it on,it shows dark.i.e black screen and it was purchased new about 6months ago.Quote from: Ademil4vic on SEPTEMBER 12, 2011, 04:42:38 AM

Whenever i turn it on,it shows dark.i.e black screen and it was purchased new about 6months ago.

I realize it's dark, but what I mean is does the screen even light up at all?

Here's a suggestion which might make this easier. Take the laptop into a dark room and turn it on. See if the screen lights up slightly or not.

Either:
A) The screen will glow slightly in the dark indicating the backlight has come, even if nothing is displayed on the screen. This would indicate something like the mainboard has gone bad.

B) The screen will not glow at all. This probably means the screen is not connected correctly (the cable has come loose or broken from the mainboard), the backlight is out (in which CASE the computer would still boot and you would hear the sound of Windows starting), or again the mainboard is malfunctioning and not TELLING it to turn on like it should.

In any case, if you BOUGHT it new, it will have at least a year warranty. None of these THINGS is user serviceable (and attempting to fix it will void the warranty). Contact HP for instructions on how to place a warranty claim.
