Why do you need the BIOS update? The BIOS hasn't been changed since 2006. (A failed update can cause the machine to be permanently unbootable--so you only update if necessary.)

And it's true that on older systems a failed bios flash can result in a dead SYSTEM. Good advice from our new member gvstn.
