Solve : Power failure on hard drive me thinks!!!!?

Answer»

Hi really could do with some help. My old machie died, ahhhhh. Anyway bought a new little beastie and put both hard drive from the pld machine into the new one. Drive C was ok (little 40gig to keep software), HOWEVER drive E was nowhere to be SEEN. Tried placing it into an external housing unit and still did not appear. After several attempts i did notice i can feel drive C moving but not drive E so am I thinking that this could be a power failure with E, if this is the case is there anything I can do as there is about 100 gigs worth of data I never BACKED up, silly me. Or any other suggestions. Thank you for any help with this matter!!!!!!!!!!!!if it will not even spin up, the chances of recovering the daya are few and very expensive.

basically , a third PARTY company will reomve the plattens off the dead drive, insert them into a working drive, copy the data to a new hdd and mail you the new drive...Its NOT cheap, nor is it guarenteed. I had this done for companies before after floods, fires and other mishaps (LIGHTNING striking a pc and literally...blowing it up....) and have about a 75-80% success rate.

This is a generalized overview of the process, not to be taken on by DIY'ers.

If you can find the exact model and change the"PCB"circuit board sometimes
that will work.
