Answer» There was a power outage recently and now when I turn the computer on, it wont turn on, no lights no fan, nothing. Is it the power supply or could it be something else, and so how would I find out? Cmputer is a compaq presario SE1365L desktop I would guess Power supplyIs the receptacle live?Yah, I would first try plugging the computer into another receptacle...if that doesn't work, borrow a power supply of equal or greater wattage from another computer and install it temporarily, for testing. If it doesn't work after installing the power supply, then you'll need a new motherboard.. This is PRACTICALLY an ad for using a UPS.
